My work functions like an imaginary autobiography,
a private mythological relating to history and spirit. I can have a number of paintings going at the same time, because I am always painting the same world. In my vision, color, energy, women, and multiplicity always matter. Certain images like the bathtub, the airplane, the broken city, and the horizon line at the family farm recur like the significant symbols in old medieval icons.
Drawings and collage are more direct, like thoughts. Paintings, as dreams do, explain through layers of meaning.
