In my new work, I want the dark fairy tale quality, a quest. I relate to the threatening female aspect of the non hard-edged -- the interior. I resist the rationalist pre-planned. There is no inanimate object. As Kandinsky says, “Everything has a secret soul.” The blur and its companion, visceral texture, have the mystical and metaphysical aspect of vibration. For me painting is an obsessive philosophical endeavor -- painted matter on the edge of advanced physics.
